A passion for skiing
My name is Philippe, and I am a Top Level, fully certified (level 3) Ski Instructor and trainer at the Park City Ski School (part of Vail Resorts). I have been a ski instructor since 2005. Please note that I book all my lessons through the Park City Ski School. (pricing here)
Well, basically, I am a ski buff.
I started skiing at age 8, and even taught as a teenager. Then, I somewhat got lost in a life that involved suits, ties and lots of airmiles…until I found my true calling.
In 2005 my family and I moved to Park City (thanks all 5 of you…) and I was able to explore my passion and start sharing it with others.
I am a PSIA Alpine Level III certified ski instructor (highest certification level). I also hold many specific certifications such as Telemark (Nordic Level II), Children’s Specialist II, Adaptive I, and USSA Coaching 100.
PSIA is the Professional Ski Instructor Association and they offer 3 levels of certifications. As a ski instructor, PSIA trains professionals like me in various topics beyond the technicality of skiing, such as learning styles, developing teaching progressions, soft skills and more.
I teach private lessons during the week, on alpine or telemark skis. I am also part of the trainers for Park City, delivering training sessions to other instructors. Most week ends, I coach our local young “rippers” age 10 and 11.
I can teach in English, French and Spanish.
